Well, here we are with the freshly powder coated frame. Now the true reassembly begins. This restoration will leave no stone unturned and every aspect of this truck will be looked at before it goes on the chassis.
Both axles were stripped down to the bare housings, capped off and sent to the Powder Coaters along with the frame.
Though it may look a little hectic but all parts were kept separate and given a thorough inspection before reassembly.
Nothing was left off the list when it came time for things to go back together. It really is a no brainer when you start to put one of these back together. No one wants to put dirty parts back on after all the work that has been done!
Here are the axle housings ready for the internals to go back inside with all new seals & gaskets.
Looks like the drive shafts and steering components are ready and waiting. You can see in the background that the chassis is now ready to receive the axles & wheels to get it mobile once again.
The rear axle is now back on the truck and the front axle awaits. The details are starting to stick out and really make this truck shine!
The front axle assembly with the period correct Cutlas “Power Loc” hubs installed.
Now the rolling chassis is all ready for the motor & body. For the time being it will be safely tucked away until all the pieces are ready for assembly.
