This is what you do when you don’t have an auto lift. I had to get the bed up high enough to roll the old chassis out and then back the Tour Jeep in.
Now the bed is up high enough and it’s time to roll out the old chassis.
I know it doesn’t look too sturdy but it worked. Now if I can just back in the Tour Jeep without hitting anything.
The cab has been set and many of the miscellaneous parts have been reinstalled.
Here we go! Carefully backing up is a top priority right now.
The truck is backed in place and now it’s time to lower the bed down to the new chassis.
Everything is finally back together! I think it’s time for the inaugural test drive!
No doors, seat belts, or windshield..... Not a problem. This test drive was a long time coming. There's still a ton of work to do and just three weeks until we leave for Ouray, CO. with it on our 2008 summer vacation.
A little open up front but a big step forward. One last push to go!
At this point I was starting to feel a little more confident about the Tour Jeep going with us on our vacation. At least everyone will have a place to sit! Now I just have to add thirteen sets of seat belts.
A local guy did my seats and did a great job!
With one week to spare I was able to get the Tour Jeep hand lettered exactly like it was back in 1964. Time to create some new history!
