The decision was made that the high use areas were too far gone for polishing so they were removed any repainted.
You can see the overhead rack was also painted at this time.
Color matching the existing 58 year old paint was no simple feat. It took abut 10 mixes to really dial in the final correct shade.
All painted and ready to reinstall.
Here is the rear of the Howe with the cabinet doors repainted red and the step area repainted silver. Next the large drain valve and the tow hooks go back on it. They are being painted and will really add some nice detail to the rear shelf.
