Rolling Creation

Dan bought this truck locally from a guy a few years ago with the intention of parting it out.  After selling some valuable goodies off the truck he changed his mind and decided to go in a different direction with the truck.  Here are a few specifics from Dan on his buildup.

"It's a '61. 305v8, turbo 350, 203 t case and 33" buckshot mudders on 16x8 black steel wheels. Chevy 12 bolt rear with a mini spool and a Chevy 44 front with a mini spool and both with 4:10 gears. 4" lift up front. It will have an inside cage with runners going through the back window to the bed.  Radiator will be in the bed with fans and the trans cooler will be where the stock radiator was with fans. Not going to do much body work since it will get beat up on the trail. Might just mud it and prime it?? See what happens.  Also a modified J4000 winch bumper with an old school Warn 8273 winch. Yes, an 8273 not a 8274. 8273 has no power out only free spool out an a pair of old school Baja racing bucket seat with harnesses."

JANUARY 2014 UPDATE

Dan’s had a little time between FC projects to get his FC crawler up and running and he is really excited about it!  He says the Chevy V8 and automatic really make this a different truck.  With not enough snow so far this winter to feed Chomper Dan’s decided to put a blade on the crawler and see how she performs.  I have little doubt that snow will be thrown well clear when this crew get at it.  Awesome job Dan!
