Dan’s 677 has been a fixture at Jesse’s for a few years now and it is a “Work in Progress” project. One of these days though….. This is an example of grafting ¾ ton Suburban axles onto to a stock M-677/ FC-170 chassis. If you keep the wheels stock the front axle fits quite nicely under the truck.
Also with the Chevy motor sitting lower in the chassis than the stock Cerlist there is more room for seats and passenger comforts.
Jesse installed a “GM Goodwrench” crate motor in Dan’s truck also. Notice how he positioned the motor as far back as he could. This helps balance the weight in the truck and makes sure there are no problems with the front axle clearance during articulation.
