First off, here are a couple of follow-up pictures on the camper. The replacement step area has been welded in & is good to go!
You can never be too careful in one of these old trucks. The guys decided “Safety First” when gutting any insulation type material from the camper. I believe the inside is now all clear of any hazards. Stay tuned, there’s a few more surprises inside to share!
The complete motor compartment was tidied up with a complete tune up & all fluids changed.
The entire header & dash area were cleaned up & the cracked vinyl was removed. Fortunately, all the metal underneath was still in great shape. All the glass was razor bladed clean & is in great shape. One door glass was cracked & it was replaced with a period correct used piece.
The drums were in good shape, so everything was cleaned up & reinstalled. Of course, new wheel cylinders, rubber hoses, & hard lines were installed.
Here’s one corner all cleaned up & ready to go! The broken flare was replaced with a new one.
The Master cylinder, brake switch, & all hard lines were replaced here as well. The Guy's like using that Nickel/Copper type hard line. It's easy to bend, flare, & rust issues will be a thing of the past!
