I believe this is the second time Patrick has brought his DRW to the event. He drove it in all the way from Flagstaff. Like many of the FC-170’s out there his truck has be repowered with the venerable Chevy 250 Straight 6. This was a very popular swap back in the day as the Chevy motor had similar dimensions as the 226 L-Head Willys motor but bumped up the power quite a bit by comparison. You’ll find this out there in quite a few of the 170’s that are still in service. Check out the cool clearance lights and the dual spots that helped light the way looking for that lost steer or calf at night.

The bed on this truck is made by “Omaha Standard” a large producer of truck bed since 1926. I believe this model is for cattle or livestock transportation.

If my memory serves me right Patrick’s DRW is a ’64 model. The large horn button signifies that it is a later model build and of course the raised speedometer was a DRW exclusive to help clear the larger Master Cylinder that these vehicles carried.
