Ralph and I have been "FC friends" for
quite some time now and I have always been an admirer of his trucks and we both
share a common love, the San Juan mountains! You can imagine how jealous I
was when I opened an email from Ralph and there he was with his FC-170 in Ouray
wheelin' in the mountains and even hitting parts of Black Bear road with his
truck. This was way back when I was just dreaming of owning of a Tour
Jeep. Well it seems like things are getting a little crowded over at
Ralph's place by this email he just sent.
"After much deliberation and soul
searching, I have finally decided to sell
my beloved FC150. I simply have too many toys and need to make some shed
room."
Here's some details
on Ralph's clean little '57 FC-150.
1957 Jeep FC 150
The truck is in very good condition, no rust anywhere. The previous owner
did some extensive repair work to the body and it is a very sharp truck. I
have used it mainly for parades and "Sunday afternoon drives". The seats
have been recovered professionally and "modern" gauges and tachometer
installed in the dash. I have an original "uncut" dash for anyone who would
want to go back original. All glass is good with no cracks or chips.
Mechanically the drive train is original except the engine. The original
F134 has been replaced with an "Iron Duke" engine from a later model CJ-7.
www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/engine/gm151.html It has a custom made engine
cover but I also have the original cover, in case anyone would ever want to
go back to the F134. Transmission, transfer case, front and rear axles (with
larger brakes) were rebuilt by previous owner and have less than 1000 miles
on them.
$6500
