After some consideration and calculation the perspective buyer made a proposal and emailed it to the Prairie VFD board for consideration. The board voted to accept the offer which included delivery to its new home.
Now was time to get the truck ready to deliver to its new home. All the tires held air but were in petrified condition.
This shot shows a lot of stuff missing from the truck. The Prairie Fire Department crew did a fabulous job of finding and including most of the accessories that came on the truck! Thanks so much for your effort!
There was one last request before the truck headed out to its new home. Could we get a picture of the Prairie, Idaho EMS crew with their old truck? Mission accomplished! Many thanks to all of you for your service and saving and preserving the history of this old work horse for future generations to enjoy!
Throughout its entire life this truck has been in the 25 mile radius of Prairie, Idaho. A quote that was relayed to me really struck home. "We all have fought fire with this little truck many times in the past. It's a little bittersweet to see her go...."
All loaded up and ready to hit the road...
Believe it or not with all the questions on the running condition of the truck the guys from the Fire department put a new battery and some fuel in it and it actually started up and ran. There were even brakes, go figure….
One last “Cameo Shot” from the guys from the Prairie EMS who delivered the truck and they were headed back home.
Well, now it’s finally here. Time to get it in a bay and give it a thorough inspection!
