I always get a lot of questions on Tim’s FC-170. Many, including me love the stance of his truck and would like to have theirs look like that. Tim bought the truck from Bob Thomson many years ago just as it sits and I keep forgetting to write down all the specifics. Jesse’s tried and true method is in the Tech Questions section of the FC Connection and involves Chevy front springs with a slight lift. Check out the link below for further details.
Tim has several different configurations that he for the back of his truck. You may remember one year he had a real nice pipe rack with a surf board on it, this year it was naked. What he had been holding out on was the truck originally came fitted with a locally made aluminum camper shell that looked a lot like the “Factory Approved” Camp-N-Cargo top that was an original option. Tim said he has been using the shell as a make-shift lawn mower storage shed in his back yard and still owns it! We convinced him that it must be install back on his FC for next year’s show and he has agreed to do so. Can’t wait to see that setup!
