Wayne was a first time attendee to the Roundup and his 1959 FC-170 Tow Truck was a sight to see!
Though Wayne mentioned that his truck still needed a few finishing touches, the theme of the truck really was consistent. The custom tilt cab was well thought through and features some marine industry ideas that he came up with from his career in boat repair business.
The electric screw jacks came from his boating business and featured positive stops to prevent over travel. Both jacks ran in unison and operated flawlessly. He still wanted to incorporate a positive latch to secure the cab when it is lowered and had planned to electrically work them into the concept to provide ease of operation.
The winch that operated the wrecker was a 10 ton Tulsa unit that provided more than ample power to handle the job.
The wrecker unit itself didn’t come from a FC truck originally but it sure fit well. It is an Ashton Wrecker, Model EXB-1060 and was formerly in a 1-ton dually bed.
