This little FC towed much smaller boats in the Boundary Waters (a 3 million acre area of nothing but lakes and forest).  Before it was designated a wilderness area, there were many lodges etc. on these lakes.  Many people would boat or canoe into these lakes for some of the greatest fishing anywhere.  Several of the portages between lakes were quite long, and primitive roads were built.  For a fee, you could pull up to the portage, and the operator would load you on a boat trailer, pull you to the next lake, and back you into the water.  I imagine that the tight turning radius of the FC was desirable for this job.
