"FC" Dan DeVries and myself went on a little Safari of sorts to the "Wilds" of Minnesota in search of a creature that has not been recorded in the public eye for over 50 years, the ever elusive FC-170 with the 'Jeep' Factory Approved "Trav-L-Aire" camper. After a 570 mile journey we came upon a gravel road that I swear you could hear the banjo from the movie "Deliverance" playing! Think that would turn us away? So the guy lived off the grid a bit and preferred it that way, there she was, the Trav-L-Aire! A T-4 model with a Koenig PTO winch none the less!!!!! After careful scrutiny and the negotiating power of Mike & Frank from "American Pickers" my navigator Dan drove the mighty beast up on the trailer, I lashed her down, and we "Beat Feet" before he could change his mind. It is now safely in my lair where I've begun to chronicle it's history and prepare for a restoration.  Follow along with this "one of a kind" Adventure Vehicle from days gone by.
