This truck was originally posted on Craigslist in 2017. It was a Southern California truck for all its life. The original owner had passed away & it was put up for sale by the family.
Here is the original listing. Many thanks to Dave, the former owner of Ewillys.com for bringing this listing back to life for this article.
A slightly tattered interior, but as complete as the day it rolled off the assembly line!
The truck sat unsold for a while, probably because of the price for a unrestored vehicle. It had less than 40,000 original miles on it, but was still in a generally unknown condition.
This is the item that really caught my attention. A Pullman camper shell built specifically for this model truck. I’m not sure if this was a custom build or they offered these to the general public, but after 68 years, I’d safely say this is one of the very few left in existence.
The truck was eventually bought by a gentleman in Missouri. The condensed version of this story started out with my wife finding someone out wandering in our front yard. We are kinda off the beatin’ path and my wife asked the gentleman, “Can I help you.” He said, “Is this where the ‘JEEP GUY’ lives.” A meeting happened later, advice was given, & a cute little narrow-track FC-150 was brought to the wilds of Missouri!
The new owner had big plans for the little truck. Get it fully functional & then maybe some shows & outings with his grandchildren. But as life happens, there wasn’t much time given to the truck & it became a Monument in his garage…
After about 6 years, reality struck & the decision was made that the cute lil’ narrow-track needed to find a new home.
Of course, Craig the ‘Jeep Guy’ would have loved to add this trinket to his herd, but he had his own Jeep issues to deal with. Fear not, Craig had connections to get this gem into the right hands, and to bring this unusual truck back to the former glory that so rightly deserved!
