Some months ago Fire Chief M. C. Musser and other officers and members of the Lyons Volunteer Fire Company of the Reading, Pennsylvania area began looking for a comparatively short wheelbase maneuverable fire truck that could be depended on to go practically anywhere through mud, sand, snow and over ice-coated city streets and rural roads.  It took only a demonstration by Mr. Herbert Smith, salesman for Hettinger Brothers, Willys dealership in Reading, to convince them that a big, sure-footed ‘Jeep’ FC-170 Truck was the answer.  Their bright new ‘Jeep’ fire truck is not only the pride of the company but it provides the best go-any-where… any time assurance that is so essential to the emergency work of fire fighting.
