The old sock type oil bath for the hydraulic fluid (yellow) is being cut off. Laying in the foreground is a bracket designed for the new set up, its “low key “ and out of site, the white filter will be painted industrial dark grey and will have old period correct decals added to it.

After contacting WIX Filters it was discovered that the sock type hydraulic filter cartridge for the entire hydraulic system was stopped from production in the late 1990s - so the system will have to convert to a base with a spin on cartridge. This is not what was originally planned but WIX said even if you could find an old filter that the cartridges have a shelf life and start to disintegrate after a while.  Follow along and check out the solution for this problem.
