The old sock type oil bath for the hydraulic fluid (yellow) is being cut off. Laying in the foreground is a bracket designed for the new set up, its “low key “ and out of site, the white filter will be painted industrial dark grey and will have old period correct decals added to it.
The bead blasted bracket is welded in place.
The paint has been feather blended and will dry without the lines around it. Now the hose which will feed the pump will come from the hole in the new Bracket and the filter base will mount under the bracket and you will just see the grey filter hanging down, but still kind of out of sight.
Here’s the finished look, out of sight but totally period correct and fully functioning. Painted the spin on filter commercial grey, Purolator decals will be added to give it a period look. The green rag was to cushion hoses, but new hangers will be welded into place to support hoses.
Here’s a picture of the filter system with the retro decals, a real nice solution that also complements the truck.
