Versatile FC-170 Assigned
Multiple Duties As Part Of Big Brewery Fleet
A shining new FC-170 Pick-up Truck
is the busiest and the most handsome vehicle in the hugh fleet of 100 trucks and
26 passenger cars owned and operated by the Stegmaier Brewing Company, Wilkes
Barre, Pennsylvania.
In fact Mr. Carl Schreiner, Fleet Superintendent for the company calls it the
"pride of the fleet." The unit is equipped with a Meyer snow plow and will
be used for clearing driveways and parking areas around the plant during winter
months. It also doubles as a fleet service unit and as a delivery truck.
The vehicle has been named "Little Steg" in honor of a new seven ounce bottle of
beer that the Stegmaier Company has recently introduced as a supplement to their
line.
The fleet department at the big brewery employs five mechanics, a body
repairman, two painters and a lubrication and wash man.
Biggest factor influencing the sale according to Mr. George J. Alles, Willys
dealer who delivered the vehicle, is the extra power of the FC-170 and its
tremendous versatility.
